Life for pedestrians in Delhi is all set to become a bit more comfortable as work on installation of escalators at different foot-over-bridges in the Capital is nearing completion. All these escalators, including the one opposite.These escalators would mark another milestone in making Delhi a truly world-class city ahead of the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The contract is being executed by Schneider Electric which is a world leader in electric and automation management.the company is installing escalators at ITO, Inter-State Bus Terminus at Kashmere Gate, Majnu ka Tila, Moti Bagh, Sri Venkateswara College and Maharani Bagh. Apart from installing these high capacity escalators, the company that has been given a five-year contract to also maintain these escalators and provide security for them.

AIIMS Flyover, is to be the first beneficiary of the project. It is being estimated that AIIMS flyover, which is the oldest and second biggest flyover, and others flyovers and landscapes of South Delhi.
