Delhi NCR IndiBlogger meet 2009

Khwaja Qutub-Ud-Din Bakhtyar Kaki Mehrauli, New Delhi
1542 Legend Of Kaki Khwaja Qutub-ud-Din Bakhtyar Kaki, popularly known as Qutub-Sahib,& surnamed 'Kaki' because during his meditation he was fed on small cakes known as 'kaks', was born at Ush in Persia. He came to India with the earliest Muslim conqueror after journeying through Khurasan and Baghdad and became a disciple, and later a spiritual successor, of Khawaja Mu'inu'd-Din Chishti of Ajmer.
He lived for the duration of the reign of Iltutmish and died in 1236. Making Of The Memorial His grave, originally plain and earthen, but now enclosed within marble balustrades and surmounted by a dome resting on pillars, completed as late as 1944, is the main shrine in the dargah. It lies in the middle of a rectangular enclosure, which has been overstated by different rulers of Delhi, the most pleasing part being the western wall containing floral multi-coloured tiles, said to have been fixed by Aurangzeb.

India Gate (originally called All India War Memorial) was built by Edwin Lutyens to commemorate the Indian soldiers who died in the World War I and the Afghan Wars. The names of the soldiers who died in the wars are inscribed on the walls. Burning under it since 1971 is the Amar Jawan Jyoti (eternal soldier's flame) which marks the Unknown Soldier's Tomb.
It is a memorial arch in honour of the 70,000 Indian Soldiers who died in the First World War. Their names are engraved on it.The gate is 160 feet high and an arch of 138 feet.

The banana is best packaged for the street since it requires no washing or slicing. The vendor will take out a slim peel, make an incision with a knife, and then use the same knife to get some chat masala in, a squeeze of lemon.

President House/Rashtrapati Bhavan designed by Edwin Lutyens to be the focal point of New Delhi during british rule, the house built for the Viceroy, which is today the President of India's official residence.it has a large courtyard to its front and a Mughal style garden at its back.
This 20th-century architectural masterpiece covers an area of 4.5 acres of land. The cupola of its copper and sandstone dome rises 55m above the ground. Built in a neo-classical, Victorian-gothic style, Rashtrapati Bhawan has 340 large rooms, 37 salons, 74 lobbies and loggias, 18 staircases and 37 fountains. To some extent, the style can be said to be Classical or Greek. This claim is supported by the presence of large pillars and domes.

Beggars at Nizamuddin Dargah - Delhi Photo Gallery
"ALLAH KE naam pe de do, Maula ke naam pe de do, Babu roti khila do... ." Beseeching voices welcome visitors to Nizamuddin Dargah every day.
Many hotels in the locality thrive because of them. Around the dargah people shout, "Gharibon ko khana khilao panch rupaye mein, aiya sahab greebon ko khana kilaiye sat rupaye mein aur dus rupaye mein!" The devotees, filled with piety, buy tokens of Rs.5, 7 and 10 from the shouting men and get food to feed the gang of beggars!
