Nila Gumbad (Blue Dome) near Humayun Tomb, Nizamuddin -Delhi Photo Gallery

The blue-domed structure in the middle of the road junction in front of the entrance to Humayun's tomb is a seventeenth-century tomb called Sabz Burj. An octagonal tomb with a dome of blue tiles, supposedly built by one of Akbar's nobles to honour a faithful servant, and which may possibly predate Humayun's Tomb. On your way round to the Nila Gumbad.
Nila Gumbad is an example of ancient Indian architecture. The dome has derived its name for its blue color. It was built in the memory of Fahim Khan, the attendant of Abdur Rahim Khan. It is situated in the eastern enclosure wall of Humayun's Tomb complex. This onion shaped blue dome is one of the major tourist attractions in Delhi.

It is very difficult to symbolize the great architecture but we will take you through the course of the whole structure, its architecture and the beauty.
The main gateway of Humayun's tomb consists of a large square enclosure and Humayun's tomb can be seen at the center. The tomb stands on a stone platform with beautiful stone channels on each side of the platform. These channels were filled with water to keep the garden green and natural all the time. The main idea was to have water canals which kept the flowers, plants and the grass in good shape.

Green Dhaula Kuan flyover -Delhi Photo Gallery

The Delhi government has approached the hospitality industry to maintain the green cover and develop the landscape of the Dhaula Kuan flyover.
In order to make Delhi a model and a state-of-the-art city before the Commonwealth Games 2010, the Delhi government wants to develop and maintain the aesthetic green cover and landscape of the flyovers, as well as the Ring Road. For this it has decided to take the help of the five star hotels.

Dhaula Kuan flyover which is the largest over bridge in Delhi, followed by AIIMS Flyover, is to be the first beneficiary of the project. It is being estimated that AIIMS flyover, which is the oldest and second biggest flyover, and others flyovers and landscapes of South Delhi will be next on the agenda. The PWD has so far managed to carry out only horticultural work in these areas.

Amir Khusrau was so close to his master that once Nizamuddin Auliya said, "If sharia allows me I would like him to be buried with me in the same grave." He also said that whoever comes to visit his grave must visit the grave of Amir Khusrau first and then his. He died within a few months of his master's death. He was buried at the feet of his master. His shrine is in Nizamuddin Dargah, New Delhi.

Jama Masjid Tower - Delhi Photo Gallery

The Jama Masjid has three gateways, four towers and two minarets. The tower of the Jama Masjid is made up of five distinctive storeys. Each one of the storeys has a projecting balcony. The adjoining edifices are beautifully done with calligraphy. The first three storeys of the Jama Masjid tower are made of red sandstone and the fourth one is made of marble, while the fifth is made of sandstone.

400 DTC Bus-Q-Shelters steel structure in New Delhi

Jindal Stainless Ltd, the flagship company of the $10 billion multi-product, been awarded the 10-year contract for the second phase tender of the Bus-Q-Shelters by the Delhi Transport Corporation. The second BOT project includes building 400 Bus-Q-Shelters in all parts of Delhi, except the NDMC area. These bus shelters would be constructed and designed as per the directions given by the DTC. The project will assure DTC revenues upwards of Rs 4.5 crore per month from outdoor advertising.

The Phase II of Bus-Q-Shelters project comes on the heels of successful execution and installation of Phase I of 225 Bus-Q-Shelters by Jindal Stainless.

Khwaja Qutub-Ud-Din Bakhtyar Kaki Mehrauli, New Delhi

1542 Legend Of Kaki Khwaja Qutub-ud-Din Bakhtyar Kaki, popularly known as Qutub-Sahib,& surnamed 'Kaki' because during his meditation he was fed on small cakes known as 'kaks', was born at Ush in Persia. He came to India with the earliest Muslim conqueror after journeying through Khurasan and Baghdad and became a disciple, and later a spiritual successor, of Khawaja Mu'inu'd-Din Chishti of Ajmer.He lived for the duration of the reign of Iltutmish and died in 1236. Making Of The Memorial His grave, originally plain and earthen, but now enclosed within marble balustrades and surmounted by a dome resting on pillars, completed as late as 1944, is the main shrine in the dargah. It lies in the middle of a rectangular enclosure, which has been overstated by different rulers of Delhi, the most pleasing part being the western wall containing floral multi-coloured tiles, said to have been fixed by Aurangzeb.

India Gate (originally called All India War Memorial) was built by Edwin Lutyens to commemorate the Indian soldiers who died in the World War I and the Afghan Wars. The names of the soldiers who died in the wars are inscribed on the walls. Burning under it since 1971 is the Amar Jawan Jyoti (eternal soldier's flame) which marks the Unknown Soldier's Tomb.

It is a memorial arch in honour of the 70,000 Indian Soldiers who died in the First World War. Their names are engraved on it.The gate is 160 feet high and an arch of 138 feet.

Rashtrapati Bhavan/President House India Delhi Photo Gallery

President House/Rashtrapati Bhavan designed by Edwin Lutyens to be the focal point of New Delhi during british rule, the house built for the Viceroy, which is today the President of India's official residence.it has a large courtyard to its front and a Mughal style garden at its back.This 20th-century architectural masterpiece covers an area of 4.5 acres of land. The cupola of its copper and sandstone dome rises 55m above the ground. Built in a neo-classical, Victorian-gothic style, Rashtrapati Bhawan has 340 large rooms, 37 salons, 74 lobbies and loggias, 18 staircases and 37 fountains. To some extent, the style can be said to be Classical or Greek. This claim is supported by the presence of large pillars and domes.

Around the dargah people shout, "Gharibon ko khana khilao panch rupaye mein, aiya sahab greebon ko khana kilaiye sat rupaye mein aur dus rupaye mein!" The devotees, filled with piety, buy tokens of Rs.5, 7 and 10 from the shouting men and get food to feed the gang of beggars!
